I have literally had the pleasure to shoot more babies than ever. I LOVE IT! Look at these beauties! Are they adorable or waht? I just love shooting newborns in their first few weeks of life. They are all so different and special in their own way. I have been so busy that I have not posted to the blog in a while so I thought I would just do a gathering of them for you. I will be doing more soon. Here are the newborns for now.

Seriously, she is the sweetest thing ever. I went to her house when she was a fresh 5 days and loved every minute of it. I could just shoot these little ones non-stop! Isn’t she pretty.

Nikki & David, Engaged with a twist

Here is a fun preview of some photos Mike and I got to do together. I love working with him!! Nikki and David are engaged and wanted an engagement shoot but also wanted to have some photos of them dancing. Cool huh. They own a dance studio in St. Peters and teach many styles of dance. It was a lot of fun just watching me and I would love to learn! I dancing but I admit, I stink!! Check these cool photos out! Lollitops Spring line and T-Shirt tutus too!

I have done more than one line shoot for Lollitops and never got them posted. I LOVE her new spring line, it features hats with the flowers made out of ribbon and ribbon butterfly’s too! She has also partnered with T-Shirt Tutus out of Texas. They are dresses with tutus attached. I love them too, very fun. Here are some shots from the last few shoots. Sorry there are so darn many, I can never decide!!!

Spring Event Time!

I have received lots of emails about spring events and I have been trying to plan but boy has it crept up on me. I am unable to keep animals at my own home this year so I have been trying my darndest to find some to borrow.

I think I did it. I have two people lined up who are going to let me use a white bunny (maybe another) and some chicks. Everyone always loves this event and I could not pass it up! Here are the details as I have them:

Wednesday ( please come all you stay at home moms so the working folks have the weekend! Understand if you cant though). Sorry for the little rant, lets try again:

Wednesday, 04.01 - 1PM till 6PM at Faust Park in Chesterfield.

Saturday, 04.04 – 1PM till 6 PM at Forest Park

Sunday, 04.05 – 1PM till 5PM at St. Peters Rec Plex

I will do 30 minute sessions per family. If you have more than three children you will need 2 sessions. You get natural poses with the baby animals and other fun spring and Easter props. All outdoors for beautiful spring backgrounds and lighting this year.

$45 for the session creation fee and two sheets of prints. You can purchase other items at 10% off normal price!

I sent out an email with all of these details and have booked quite a few sittings but there are still some open. Call now before they are all gone!!

There it is. I will also offer spring events after Easter without animals in Old Town St. Charles on April 30th and May 2nd at either Botanical Gardens or Tower Grove Park. Watch the blog for more details.

The Owls

We have some new family friends at our home! We discovered a few weeks ago that we have a family of Great Horned owls living in the cedar tree about 10 feet from our back door and driveway. There is a Huge Female (yet to have a photo of), a smaller male, and at least one baby. I think there might be another. Since we discovered the nest I have done lots of research about this furry friend and learned that it is the second largest owl in the country. That is right. The mom is huge with a wing span of about 4-5 feet. Unfortunatly we only see her late at night as she is rarely in the nest. Maybe she is the dad but they say that the female is larger than the male. We spotted the first baby last week and the parents have not been there near as much since. IT is kind of freaky so see the adults looking at you with thier large scary yellow eyes. Today I got some good pics of the baby and possibly another baby and thought I would share. They really are cool to learn about. The boys like looking too but I do not let them close because they are known to be fiercly protective of their young. I do not blame them.

This is a photo of a full grown one. I "borrowed" the image from the world bird sanctuary website as I can not seem to get a full body shot.

This is the smaller of the two grown owls. He/She was in the nest and I was directly under looking up. He peered over the side of the nest to look at me so all I got was the head. Freaky Huh!

This is the baby owl on about the 4th or 5th day since we first saw. I think I might see another little furball on the left side of the photo that might be another baby. I have learned that the eggs can hatch up to 4 days apart.

Unfortunatly, in yesterdays wind most of the nest was broken apart. Baby looks a bit scared hanging on to the branch and seems to hover right into the trunk of the tree.

Here is the tree that the nest is in. The writing shows where the nest is in the tree, about 25-30 feet up right in the center next to the trunk.

I really like this image of baby looking at me. He sort of looks like a raccoon. He blinks a lot if you watch him.

Okay, So I as usual could not decide which of these to show. It is very hard narrowing down images to show only 5 which is my goal! I have been shooting this delight since she was 3 months old. Look how she has grown. For this shoot we started at thier new home which by the way I want to set up shop in the living room all the time because it has the perfect lighting! Then we braved the cold and went down to old town Eureka for some fun alley photos. Thanks Again you guys, I had a blast…
